Tuition & Aid
The cost of education at UT Southwestern is substantially lower than nearly every private medical school in the U.S. as well as most public medical schools, according to data from the Association of American Medical Colleges.
Tuition and fees are approximately $15,000 per year for Texas residents. A personal computer is required of all incoming students and may be included in financial-aid packages. UT Southwestern works directly with students to obtain funding for their medical education. Most of the financial aid available is obtained through federal and state loan programs. In addition, some scholarships from private sources are available.
Installment Plan Available
We know that funding a medical education can be a challenge. So we allow students to pay tuition and certain fees in installment payments. At the time of registration, students wishing to pay on the installment plan sign a promissory note and a truth-in-lending form. There is a small charge to participate in the plan.
"For the money, UT Southwestern offers the absolute best education you could possibly get anywhere in the country. For the ranking of the school and the education you're receiving, there's no better value." − Rodrigo Interiano, class of 2010
